There are so many great ways to enjoy a beer in Jersey City. Why sit in a dimly lit bar when you have all of these great advantages of our city?
Not only does Taphaus have 48 incredible beers on tap, but in my humble opinion, it has "The View" of NYC. The floor to ceiling windows give patrons an amazing view of the skyline, and its proximity to FiDi offers an up close and personal look at The Freedom Tower.
When beers are mentioned with "pairings," it is usually in reference to a recommendation to pair Beer X with Food Y. However, Barcade gives you the unique opportunity to pair one of 25 quality beers on tap with over 50 classic arcade games. Maybe you'll enjoy a brew from Victory Sour Monkey while playing Donkey Kong. Or a Sixpoint Sweet Action while battling to save the galaxy from Asteroids. Or go Italian with a Dogfish Head Birra Etrusca while playing Mario Bros. Whatever your choice, you're sure to have a blast playing timeless games with delicious brews.
I already touched on the awe-inspiring views from Jersey City, and those views can also be soaked in from some great rooftops. The Iron Monkey has 39 craft beers on tap including an awesome 3rd story rooftop with a spectacular view of The Freedom Tower.
Porta (my absolute favorite rooftop in JC) provides the option of resident beers on tap along with rotating taps seasonally to enjoy. There is tons of outdoor seating, great lighting, and Jenga!
One of the only two tasting rooms in Hudson County is located right here in Jersey City at 150 Bay Street. Departed Soles has a wide variety of different styles including gluten free options. You can also find several varieties from 902 Brewing Co. at multiple bars in Jersey City. This brewing company is based out of Hoboken and is quickly exploding on the craft beer scene in northern NJ.
Pairing with Great Food
There is more to Jersey City than just the great selection of craft beers on tap. And by more, I of course mean there is awesome food to go along with your favorite beers! White Star Bar has 16 beers on tap to go along with a delicious menu.
If you want to combine the great views from above along with some great food, hop over to Taphaus on 2nd street and try the pretzel or the lamb burger.
