The last time America's Cup racing took place in New York waters was back in 1920. That will all change the first week of May when six teams bring their AC45F catamarans to race in the Louis Vuitton America's Cup World Series Event. Jersey City will be the hub of the technical areas of the race. All six teams, race management, and TV production will be located in Liberty State Park and Liberty Landing Marina.
Racing & Viewing Info
Racing will actually take place on the lower Hudson River with the Manhattan skyline as its backdrop. Friday, May 6th is practice day for all teams. Racing for points will take place at 2:00pm on Saturday, May 7th, and Sunday, May 8th. The six teams participating are: Oracle Team USA, Emirates Team New Zealand, Land Rover BAR for Great Britain, Artemis Racing for Sweden, SoftBank Team Japan, and Groupama Team France. All points scored count towards the 2017 America's Cup in Bermuda.
In Jersey City, you can snag the perfect spot to watch from anywhere on the waterfront, all the way to Liberty State Park!

Henry's on the Hudson will also be putting their awesome views of the racing to good use with views games, give-a-ways & drink specials both Saturday and Sunday! They will have a live feed of the race on all TVs and $5 Dark 'n Stormy's with Gosling's Rum all weekend long!
Events Outside of JC
Luckily there are 2 days of racing, and there's also a lot going on if you want to hop over to the NY side of the Hudson! The best viewing spots on the NY side are between Battery Park City and Pier 25. There will be an event village at the Brookfield Place Waterfront Plaza on racing days open from 11am until 6pm. There will be a main stage with entertainment, a chance to hear the captain of each team speak before the races, and award presentations on Sunday. Vendors, sponsor displays, and large screens with live announcers will also be located in the plaza. The event village and races are free (no tickets required). Many will view the races on the water from their own boat, charter boats, and even Seastreak Ferries!
These amazing catamarans reach speeds of over 40 mph, and there's no shortage of excitement. Dress in your best red, white, and blue and come cheer on the defending world champions, Oracle Team USA! Catch some rays, enjoy the fresh air, and after a day of world class racing head to your favorite watering hole for a cocktail (or six) - try a Dark & Stormy, which is the official America's Cup drink in Bermuda!
