This year marks 15 years since the horrific events of September 11, 2001. There were 749 New Jersey residents lost on that day and Jersey City is playing host to several memorial events to honor the lives of all of those who tragically lost their lives. Reflections Ceremony - 8:20am, Grand St.
The 9/11 Memorial Comittee will be hosting their annual Reflections Ceremony at the foot of Grand St. starting at 8:20am. The ceremony includes musical performances, moments of silence for the victims, and reflections on the lives of those lost.
Journal Square 9/11 Memorial - 2pm
There will be a remembrance ceremony taking place at the Journal Square 9/11 Memorial Fountain.
Empty Sky Memorial - 3pm
There will be a ceremony held at the Empty Sky Memorial in Liberty State park to remember all those lost. The ceremony includes a performance by the Jersey City Firefighters Pipe Band and the National Anthem will be sung by New Jersey native Fletcher. Guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and the ceremony will take place rain or shine.
