The wait is finally over! DoShe Korean BBQ located at 8 Erie Street is slated to open at the end of June. Originally advertised as City 8, the new place is actually named DoShe, and will be downtown Jersey City's first Korean BBQ restaurant.
I've walked by the location and caught a glimpse of the interior on numerous occasions, so I finally stopped in and got a chance to speak with one of the guys behind DoShe. What to expect? Traditional Korean BBQ cooked at the tables, complete with built-in barbeques. As shown on the chalkboard animal diagrams at the entrance, there will be an assortment of cuts of pork and beef for a wide variety of different flavors.
I can also confirm that there will be vegetarian options such as tofu soup and mushroom and veggie dishes. The eatery also has a liquor license and will offer traditional soju, including watermelon and yogurt flavors. Even more exciting is the news of the basement bar where locals can come for a night of karaoke or to listen to musical acts.
With the opening just around the corner, make some time to check out downtown's newest eatery, because they'll be running a bunch of promotions for the first month!
