Japanese clothing and housewares company Muji is opening it's first store in Brooklyn...and it will be in Williamsburg! The new spot will be 7,300 square feet on the ground floor of 200 Wythe Avenue. It will carry apparel, kitchenware, tableware, furniture, interior and storage accessories, stationery, and travel items. One special addition to the Williamsburg (different from its other 6 NYC locations) will be an embroidery station which will let you customize textile items with a selection of over 300 embroidered designs. The Williamsburg location will also collaborate with local artists and artisans.
From their press release:
"MUJI is delighted to open our first ever Brooklyn location in Williamsburg" said Toru Tsunoda, President of MUJI USA. "As the neighborhood is home to young families and collectives of innovators, artists and design-conscious individuals, this area perfectly encapsulates the types of communities that continue inspire our brand and inform our design processes. We're excited to finally become part of this vibrant district."
