It's that time of year again when our fair Main Street becomes flooded with sweet treats and good eats. Yes my friends and fellow foodies, its time again for The Manayunk StrEAT Food Festival. That glorious time when our street becomes a feeding ground (pun intended) for all things delicious. This will officially be my third StrEAT festival, and I know its hard to believe, but even I still find myself overwhelmed with all the options out there.

Which brings me to why I decided to write this. Even after many a food fest, I have found that the best thing you can do is come early, bring cash (yes some venders only take green - no plastic), and be prepared with what you really want to hit up. There are just too many choices to be able to have everything (although I try), so in my experience, I go in with a bit of a game plan. So without further ado, these are some of my TOP trucks not to miss. In no particular order…

Dump N' Roll

Peter, the owner, is worth stopping in himself. He puts on a great show and his interactions with his patrons are fantastic and hilarious. Not to mention his delicious take on dumplings and egg rolls will leave you in taste heaven. With combinations like their Mac and Cheese egg roll or The "Far West" Bacon Cheeseburger Dumpling, you're bound to be full and happy here.

Philly Fry

You can never go wrong with fries right? Well Philly fry has upped the ante with their gourmet loaded french fries. They are now serving up everything from their "Ben Franklin Buffalo Blue," to "South Philly Steak N' Bake," all the way to "Down the Shore Surf N' Turf." They also have vegan and vegetarian options for all our meatless friends out there in search of something tasty. All around, a spot you don't wanna miss out on.

Sugar Philly

If you're in the mood for a light, sweet treat, look no further than Sugar Philly. This truck is sheer perfection. Their macaroons are light and flavorful, but my favorite are their signature Macaroon ice cream sandwiches. Sugar Philly really raises the bar when it comes to their flavorful combinations, a must try for all.

Nomad Pizza

Now this is no ordinary pizza truck! This truck comes with a fully-equipped brick oven. Go big or go home at Nomad Pizza. If it wasn't obvious already, Nomad Pizza takes their pizza very seriously, and they only use fresh, local, and organic ingredients. How many food trucks can say that? They also have, in my humble opinion, one killer Margherita pizza.

The Flying Pie Guy

The Flying Pie Guy gets my vote for a must stop for the sheer fact I have never had anything like it before. From its authentic Australian ginger beer (a must-have), to their flavorful pies made with farm-to-table, natural ingredients, you will be tastily transported to the land down under.

Undrgrnd Donuts

What's a food truck fest without donuts? I don't know about you, but I am all about all things sweet, and donuts are on the top of my list, especially Undrgrnd Donuts. Fair warning though, you will wait in a long line for these delectable donuts, but they are so worth it. Pictured here is my favorite, "The Homer," a fresh donut with a vanilla dunk, raw sugar, and chocolate bacon chunks.

Dr. Wutzit's Wonder Balls

Crazy cool name and equally crazy cool food to be had at this wonderful food truck. Dr. Wutzit's wonder balls will truly astound your taste buds.

Zsa's Ice Cream

This unassuming food truck is jam-packed with "Seriously from Scratch," ice cream that can't be beat. My personal favorites are their ice cream sandwiches, which are perfectly sweet and utterly delicious. No matter what flavor you pick, you can't go wrong at Zsa's.

So there it is folks, just a few recommendations for you trip to next Thursday's Manayunk StrEAT Food Festival. Can't wait to see you all there - have fun everyone! Eat lots and enjoy!
