April showers bring May flowers, right? Well, what are you supposed to do when those April showers ruin your plans? I'm sure we've all been experiencing some cabin fever with the unexpectedly chilly weather so far this month. Don't worry though, while we wait for wonderful (consistently warm) weather here are 10 things you can do to occupy your time and keep you happy and hopeful for the months to come.

Cork & Canvas

BYOB and as colorfully boozy as you make it! Cork & Canvas has some great teachers, beautifully easy paintings, and easy accessibility right off of Newark Ave. Classes are $30-$45 and include the paints, the canvas, and cups and napkins. Just grab a bottle and a brush and enjoy. 275 Newark Ave.

Liberty Science Center

Whether you're fascinated with bubbles, gravity, outer space, laser shows, or IMAX films the LSC can be fun for everyone no matter your age. They've recently improved their planetarium to include 3D movies and fully immersive tours of our galaxy. It's $22.75 - $36.75 per person and open 7 days a week. 4636, 222 Jersey City Blvd.

RPM Raceway

When was the last time you went Go Karting? Jersey City has its very own track where you can race your friends and earn some awesome Formula 1-esque skills. If you don't want to spend all your time on the track, the RPM Raceway also has an arcade, billiards, and a racing simulator to give you the experience of real life racing. 99 Caven Point Rd.

The Oculus

Take a quick PATH ride over to the WTC and explore The Oculus. Their multi-level, multi-sensory exhibits and kiosks in the center of the floors change constantly, but the restaurants and stores to explore remain the same. You'll be impressed with the height, the architecture and the diversity of stores and shops you'll find there.

White Eagle Hall

As a renovated theater, White Eagle Hall offers live music, comedy shows, dance, films, and more all the time. There is always a cool show to experience waiting for you at White Eagle Hall. They also offer food and drinks as well as some amazing architecture from the original building created in 1910 including hand-crafted stained glass skylights. 337 Newark Ave.

The Landmark Loew's Jersey Theatre

The Landmark Loew's Jersey Theatre is a not-for-profit theatre that brings together artistic performances, films, and music from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds. Here you can watch classic films, listen to jazz musicians, rock and R&B concerts, and other forms of theater. This month they're featuring a King Kong-a-thon where they'll be showing different King Kong movies from different eras for just $8 a viewing. It'll be the cheapest movie you watch in a Jersey City theater! 54 Journal Square Plaza

Ellis Island Immigration Museum

Did you know that the immigrants who came through Ellis Island make up nearly half of the American population today? Visit the Ellis Island Museum and see where your ancestors walked through, find their names on the wall and listen to an audio tour of the process and life as an immigrant coming into America. America's ancestral history is right at your doorstep.

Barcade

Who doesn't love old arcade games and beer! Leave the rain to the outside and take your good time inside of Barcade on Newark Ave. They have Pac Man, Pinball, Galaga, Centipede, and A TON more games to play there. Not only can you warm up with some exciting competition, but they also have an incredible beer list that will be sure to keep you entertained and satisfied. 163 Newark Ave.

Bang Cookies Delivery

When you order 6 cookies (or more, because let's be honest, there are NEVER enough cookies in the world), they offer delivery from 11am to 11pm. You can get the classic Sea Salt Chocolate Chunk, Cookie Covered Strawberry Jam, Macadamia White Chocolate Chunk or their new PB&J cookie! Mix and match and don't forget to order the milk!

Spend time with your friends and loved ones at home! Get a new board game, watch a new movie, or binge watch your favorite show. Rainy days are sometimes best spent on the couch with some good laughs, cozy blankets and people to share the day with.
