As reported by The Triangle Business Journal, a 1950s-era bank building near downtown Raleigh may soon be transformed into a bar. Greg and Laura Kelly have filed plans with the city for the Vault Craft Beer, which will be located at 518 W. South St. The bar's concept was born out of a passion for 1950s design, and the retro bank they currently own. The 1,100-square-foot building was originally designed by famed Raleigh architect Fred Carter Williams for First National Bank, which had one of the area's first drive-through windows.

The Kellys plans to maintain that same retro clean 50s vibe for the new bar, as can seen in the above rendering. Vault Craft Beer is on track to open by the end of 2018, but the Kellys are still waiting on the city to approve a change in use for the property's zoning. Stay tuned for more updates!
