It's hard to believe that June is already here! But it's bringing the sunshine along with it! Here are some events and festivals to look forward to this month so you can make the most of the start of your summer!
Riverview Jazz Festival: June 1st-9th
Throughout the week from Friday June 1st – Saturday June 9th, there will be over 40 performances across Hudson County, culminating in a free all day festival at Riverview-Fisk Park, with food trucks, vendors, and of course lots of music! Hamilton Inn & Hamilton Pork Block Party at Hamilton Pork: June 2nd
The Hamilton Inn and Hamilton Pork will be hosting a block party to kick-off the summer season right with delicious BBQ food, ice cold drinks, and live music! The event will run from 11am-7pm at Hamilton Pork. 247 10th St.
Jersey City Fitness Fair at Exchange Place Plaza: June 2nd
Saturday June 2nd from 10am-2pm, JC Families will be bringing together local fitness and health experts for a day of fitness fun in the Exchange Place Plaza! There will be fitness competitions, demonstrations, and an opportunity to find local clubs and classes to jumpstart your old workout routine! Magnolia Landing Record Fair: June 2nd
Saturday June 2nd from 12pm-5pm is Record Fair Day! Find vendors selling vintage vinyl, CDs, memorabilia, and more! The fair will have live music, provided by Riverview Jazz, and is located in the newly renovated pop-up plaza behind Journal Square, Magnolia Landing. Jersey City Ward Tour at City Hall: June 3rd
The 2018 Jersey City Ward Bike Tour will take place on Sunday June 3rd, beginning at 11am at City Hall and ending with a Finish Line Festival at the Lutze Biergarten! The route is 16 miles through downtown streets that will be closed to traffic, taking a relaxed pace, with a 1pm anticipated finish time. Speed Dating Event at Brightside Tavern: June 5th
Head over to Brightside Tavern for a speed dating event on June 5th from 7pm-9pm. The event is targeted for single professionals in their 20s and 30s, with an admission cost of $32. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time here. 141 Bright St.
Sixth Borough Comedy Festival Across Jersey City: June 7th-10th
This June, Art House Productions presents its first annual 6th Borough Comedy Festival (6BCF), with shows across multiple locations across downtown Jersey City. The four-day festival will run from June 7th - June 10th, featuring stand up, sketch, improv, comedy podcasts, and more from over 70 comedians both local and national. Magnolia Landing by Marketplace JC: June 16th
Another Magnolia Landing event! On June 16th from 12pm-5pm, in conjunction with Journal Squared and Journal Square SID, Marketplace JC is joining forces to bring a curated selection of over 20 artisans, crafters, chefs and vintage sellers to the neighborhood in the form of a family- and pet-friendly outdoor market. Famous Food Market at Harborside: June 16th-October 28th
The famous New York City open-air food market will be coming to Jersey City this summer, every Saturday and Sunday starting on June 16th until the end of October, open from 11:30am-7:30pm! The waterfront location will be a home to over 30 food vendors, a wine and beer garden, craft vendors, games, and live entertainment! LSC After Dark: Third Thursdays at Liberty Science Center: June 21st
Liberty Science Center will be hosting their monthly after hours 21+ party on June 21st from 6pm-10pm. This month's theme is Science on the Rocks! You can discover the science of alcohol, brew your own beer and wine, and learn the physics behind the perfect beer pong throw! The Living Dead Market at the Harsimus Cemetery: June 23rd
Head over to the Harsimus Cemetery on Saturday June 23rd from 1pm-8pm for a carefully curated selection of vendors offering an array of the strange and unusual! Hosted by JC Oddities Market and Historic Jersey City and Harsimus Cemetery, there will also be spooky performances and the famous cemetery goats! JC Project: EATS at City Hall: June 23rd-24th
Project EATS is returning for its fifth summer, bringing good food and drinks all weekend long! There will be rotating vendors including food tents, trucks, a bar, and more! Be sure to follow @thejerseycityproject for the latest updates on Project: EATS and what vendors to anticipate at the event. Yoga Fest at the Newark Ave Pedestrian Mall: June 23rd
Saturday June 23rd from 7am-3pm, at the Newark Avenue Pedestrian Mall is Jersey City's first ever Yoga Fest! It will be a day filled with Sun Salutations, a Vinyasa class and meditation, brought to you by Jivamukti Yoga and the HDSID (Historic Downtown Special Improvement District). The day follows a close schedule, which you can find here.
Rosé and Cheese Pairing at Jersey Wine & Spirits: June 26th
Van Hook Cheese and Jersey Wine & Spirits will be co-hosting an evening of wine and cheese tastings and pairings, with instructors who will guide you through the history, production techniques, and tasting notes.
