The weekend is finally here, and we know that you want to make the most of it, especially if that means spending it out on a patio! If you're lucky enough to be staying in town for the weekend, we've rounded up some perfect summery ways to enjoy the weather, just for you!

Thursday, June 7th:

Sixth Borough Comedy Festival Across Jersey City

Art House Productions is bringing you the first annual 6th Borough Comedy Festival (6BCF), with shows all across downtown Jersey City. The four-day festival will run from June 7 th–10th, featuring stand up, sketch, improv, comedy podcasts, and more from over 70 local and national comedians. Liv Women's Basic Bike Maintenance Clinic at Giant Jersey City – Grove Street Bicycles

Liv Women's Basic Bike Maintenance Clinic will be covering all of the basics including performing a safety check, maintenance, troubleshooting issues while on the road and trail side, and how to change a flat tire. Bring your own questions, but make sure to leave your personal bikes at home. Refreshments and fun swag will be provided! The clinic will run from 7:30–9:30pm. Friday, June 8th:

Adult Storytime at Word Bookstore and Café

This Friday at 7:30pm, Word Bookstore is bringing you yet another fantastic event. Comedian Michael Ian Black and illustrator Debbie Ridpath Ohi bring you a grown-up story time with their new book I'm Sad! There will be a specialty cocktail and wine for adults. And don't forget to grab a signed copy of one or both of their fantastic picture books! 123 Newark Ave.

Julian Meyers at The Hutton

As part of the Riverview Jazz Festival, Julian Meyers and his trio will be playing on the patio of The Hutton. The show will run from 7-9pm. 225 Hutton St.

Late Night Pizza and Live Music at Porta

It's late on a Friday night and you can't seem to find anything to do? Head over to Porta for late night pizza from 11:30pm–2:30am, along with DJs and live music! 135 Newark Ave.

Saturday, June 9th:

Riverview Jazz Closing Festival at Riverview-Fisk Park

The Riverview Jazz Festival is coming to an end and you definitely don't want to miss out on this closing celebration! Starting at 12pm and running until 8pm, this free event will have food trucks, vendors, record riot and of course two stages of fantastic music! Riverview-Fisk Park

Hudson River Loop Walk

I can't think of a better way to spend a summer Saturday than appreciating all that Jersey City has to offer away from all the bustle of the city! Free Walkers brings you their 7th annual Hudson River Loop Walk, a one-day 30-mile walk along the Hudson, beginning at 8am. The walk starts at the Exchange Place PATH station and follows the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway and the Hudson River Greenway trail, ending at the World Trade Center. The walk is followed by a relaxed outdoor party at Piggyback Bar. You can register here. 15 Exchange Pl.

Yoga and Live Music at the Lutze Biergarten

Join Meghan Kramer and James Calleo for some live music and a yoga class at the Lutze Biergarten. Admission of $10 grants you an hour-long Vinyasa class and live music, with a complementary beverage provided by The Lutze. Make sure to register ahead of time, because spaces are limited. 3 2nd St.

"Confections for Comfort" Charity Event at Multiple Locations

Chemo Comfort, an organization that provides cancer patients with kits of products to help manage chemotherapy's side-effects, has challenged bakeries to help celebrate the sweet victory of cancer survivorship. The challenge began last week on National Cancer Survivor Day and will end today. Bakeries across New York City, Long Island, Westchester, and New Jersey have been participating with signature confections, and proceeds from these items will being donated to Chemo Comfort to support their programs. The Jersey City participants are Cocoa Bakery ( 275 Grand St), and Choc O Pain (330-332 Palisade Ave, 530 Jersey Ave).
