Annual Goat-Stock Festival at Harsimus Cemetery (August 4th)

Indian Independence Day Celebration 2018 (August 11th)
Join the Indian community for this celebration at City Hall Plaza on Aug 11th from 4pm-8:30pm. An Indian band will lead the festivities along with a parade around the area. There will also be a fancy dress show, children are encouraged to dress up in Freedom Fighter's costume or classic Indian dress. The parade will be followed by Indian dance performances. Make sure you show up with a big appetite, there will be many Indian food vendors offering all of your favorite foods! City Hall Plz.
Gelato Festival at Liberty State Park (August 11th)
All your dreams have come true… Jersey City has a Gelato Festival coming to Liberty State Park on August 11th! The event offers a glimpse into the secret world of high-quality artisan gelato, with an opportunity to learn about production techniques by watching the artisans at work, tasting all of the competing flavors, and voting for your favorite! Divas Pride Salsa Brunch at Hard Grove Restaurant (August 11th)
Hard Grove and the Jersey City LGBT Pride Festival are bringing you the Divas Pride Salsa Brunch! This is an Official Jersey City LGBT Pride Festival event, and will include a LatinX show hosted by the Queen of Comedy, Harmonica Sunbeam starring Victoria Cortez and Caracol de Cuba, with music by DJ George Soull, and a famous Hard Grove brunch! Magnolia Landing at Journal Squared (August 11th & 25th)
If you haven't had a chance to go yet this summer to the Magnolia Landing Marketplace, August 11th and August 25th are your chances to check out the curated selection of over 20 artisans, crafters, chefs and vintage sellers to the neighborhood in the form of a family and pet-friendly outdoor market, complete with live music and performances! Canaries Del Isla at SMUSH Gallery (August 11th and 12th)
Have a cultured night at SMUSH Gallery for a series of open and free performances on Saturday and Sunday August 11th and 12th, experiencing the immersive work of Isla. This new work explores the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Maria on the Island of Puerto Rico through text, Afro-Latin movement, sound, physical theater, and contemporary dance forms. The Battle of Paulus Hook: Jersey City in the American Revolution at Apple Tree House (August 14th)
Worried your brain is melting in this summer heat? We have the solution for you! Learn a little about local history at this lecture at Q&A about the Battle of Paulus Hook, which was a crucial moment for modern-day Jersey City during the American Revolution. The Apple Tree House will also be open to the public for those interested in viewing the historic renovations. This is a free event, but space is limited so an RSVP is required here. 298 Academy St.
La Festa Italiana (August 15th – August 19th)
La Festa Italiana began as a street festival in honor of Our Lady of the Assumption and St. Rocco. This five-day long festival is a must-go for anyone who loves old-school Italian food! 344 6th St.
18th Annual Jersey City Pride Festival (August 25th)
Arguably one of the best festivals in Jersey City, the Jersey City Pride Festival brings a celebration of love and diversity to the downtown! This is an all-day festival, running from 1pm-9pm, and stretches from the Newark Ave Pedestrian Plaza to Jersey Avenue. There are also multiple after parties at various bars and restaurants throughout downtown to look forward to! This festival is considered to be the premier LGBT event in Hudson County and demonstrates the importance of diversity and growth in our community. Famous Food Market at Lutze Biergarten (Every Saturday and Sunday)
Every Saturday and Sunday throughout the summer from 11:30am-7:30pm, the Jersey City waterfront by the Lutze Biergarten is host to over 30 food vendors, a wine and beer garden, craft vendors, games, and live entertainment! Hamilton Park and Van Vorst Park Summer Film Series (August 8th, 17th, & 22nd)
On August 17th, Hamilton Park will have a movie in the park, the movie is TBD, you can find more information closer to the date here.
On August 8th and 22nd, Van Vorst Park will also be having movie nights, showing the Black Panther and The Greatest Showman, respectively.
