The weather is definitely getting chillier, but that doesn't mean you have to be stuck inside with no plans. Enjoy these 12 indoor and outdoor events to get your fall off to a fun start.

Thursday, October 18th:

Happy Hour on Devon Find Jewelry at Porta

Hop over to Porta for Thirsty Thursday Happy Hour hosted by Devon Find Jewelry. Try on some rings and get a free drink on the jewelers! 135 Newark Ave.

Bethune Comedy Night 2

Bethune Center's 2nd Comedy night will be hosted by Buub Ice and feature sets from Nikki Taylor, Monigue, and Ms. Deliciousss. This event is FREE!! 140 Martin Luther King Dr.

PS Wine Bar 2nd Anniversary

LSC After Dark Monster Masquerade

If being a little scared is your idea of fun, LSC After Dark's Monster Masquerade is just for you. They've got a haunted lab called the Doom Zoo, a 4,000-square-foot spider maze, costume contests, drink tastings, and a lot more to explore. Midnight Market and JC Oddities Market will both be there! Friday, October 19th:

Movie in Hamilton Park

Hamilton Park Neighborhood Association will be playing Coco in Hamilton Park on Friday. The family friendly movie starts at 7pm. Bring some chairs or a picnic blanket and enjoy! Hamilton Park

Rhyme & Reason at FM Restaurant

Dave Matthew's Band tribute band Rhyme & Reason will be playing at FM on Friday, along with Lazy Lightning. Tickets are $10. 340 Third St.

Fall Garden Dinner (Secret Location)

Co-hosted by chefs Tere Fox and Pas Niratbhand, this dinner features both Thai and Peruvian cuisines. Once you buy a ticket, the secret location will be revealed. Tickets are $60 for a regular 4-course dinner and $75 for a CBD oil infusion. Tickets are available for purchase here.

Saturday, October 20th:

Marketplace JC at Magnolia Landing

Marketplace JC, Journal Squared, and Journal Square SID are joining forces to bring Marketplace JC at Magnolia Landing. This pop up will have live local musicians, beer, food, and shopping. 136 Magnolia Ave.

Ghost of Uncle Joe's at Harsimus Cemetery

Head over to the Ghost of Uncle Joe's Halloween Fundraiser for the Historic Jersey City and Harsimus Cemetery. From 1-10pm you can listen to cover music all day, and drink and be merry. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the gate. Rain Date is October 21st. Get tickets here. Harsimus Cemetery

Family Fitness and Health Expo at Newport Mall

On Saturday and Sunday at Newport Mall, the Family Fitness and Health Expo will put on two days of fitness and wellness exhibits. And you can't miss the fashion show sponsored by Komen North Jersey using breast cancer survivors as models, makeovers by Sephora, and fashion by Macy's. This will be taking place Saturday 10am–4pm and Sunday 11am–4pm. Newport Mall

JC West Side Chili Cook Off at Lincoln Park

The West Side Community Alliance is sponsoring the fourth annual West Side Chili Cook-Off. The last day to enter to compete was Monday Oct 15th, but you can still sample all of the chili your stomach can handle. The competition is from 12-2pm at Lincoln Park. Lincoln Park

Macramé Plant Hanger & Wine Workshop

If you've ever wanted to learn how to macramé a plant hanger for one of your many plants, now is your chance. This 2-hour workshop will teach you about the different cords used for macramé, basic macramé knots, how to design a plant hanger, and how to add florals to your design.
