November is here and Thanksgiving is definitely creeping up on us. With all the family time you're going to have at the end of the month, why not fill the rest with lots of fun events with friends! Whether you're in the mood for crafty workshops or dance parties, we've got you covered.

Thursday, November 8th:

Oliva Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

If you've walked down the pedestrian plaza recently, you've probably noticed a new store front on Newark Ave—Oliva. At 10am Thursday, help the HDSID and the JC community in formally welcoming Oliva to Newark Ave. The Historic Downtown Special Improvement District is holding a ribbon cutting for Oliva. 138 Newark Ave.

Friday, November 9th:

Rebuilding Together JC at O'Leary's Publik House

contribute to a good cause while also having some fun? Join Rebuilding Together JC for a $75 open bar at O'Leary's Publik House. Rebuilding JC is a non-profit organization that uses volunteers to renovate low-income homes. All proceeds from the open bar go towards materials used to restore the homes. 788 Garfield Ave.

Jets Uncorked at Buy Rite

In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the NY Jets' victory in Superbowl III, Buy Rite is hosting a wine tasting! Head over to meet former Jets WR Wesley Walker and former RB Freeman McNeil and get yourself a signed bottle of Jets Uncorked Championship Reserve. 575 Manila Ave.

Bonobo Night aka Flirtatious Friday at Iron Monkey

Saturday Night Dance Party at Lucky 7

Saturday Matinee Music Showcase at FM

JC Heights Health Fair

Head into the holidays with a clean bill of health at the JC Heights Health Fair on Saturday. Fitness & Healthy Eating Tips for the Holiday Season at CycleMixx

The holidays are right around the corner, so if you're looking for advice on how to keep your diet balanced look no further. Urban Garden Tea Party at Loosen Up JC

Add a little flavor and color to your apartment with the Urban Garden Tea Party class. The class will include an introduction to growing garden herbs indoors, a hands-on cultivation demonstration, and the sowing of two herbs to take home. Local kombucha and snacks will be served for a tea party after class, and they urge attendees to dress "as if you are lucky enough to be attending one of the Queen of England's 3 garden parties held at Buckingham Palace each year."
