Jersey City is one of the oldest and most storied cities in our nation. So why not celebrate 1776 in style with one of these exciting happenings going on this weekend! Come on out to any and all of these events to show your 4th of July spirit and participate in all the repartee!

Thursday, July 4th:

Freedom and Fireworks Festival at Exchange Place

It's the unparalleled Jersey City Freedom & Fireworks Festival at Liberty State Park! Packed with carnival rides, live performances by Pitbull and Jersey City's own Akon, enjoy family entertainment, food and drink options all before one of the largest fireworks displays in the region. The festival runs from 12-10pm. Exchange Place.

2019 Statue of Liberty 5K at Liberty State Park

Before all the festivities begin why not run the only official race around the Statue of Liberty! You can not only run off that July 4th barbecue bod but all donations go towards The NJ Special Olympics. Registration begins at 5am and the race begins at 7:15am. NYC Cycle Boats Thursday Mixer

Looking for that summer fling? Go on down to the waterfront for an excellent tour along the river. Four men and four women will complete a 90-minute cycle boat tour around the Statue of Liberty. Going from 8-10pm, tickets available here. 15 Marin Blvd.

Friday, July 5th:

Journal Square Green Market

Enjoy live music, food, vendors, artists and more at the Journal Square Greenmarket Fridays from 2-8pm. 1 Journal Square.

Feel Good Fridays at Grove Path Plaza

Stop by this local market featuring over a dozen vendors hosted by The Artist and Maker Market and Groove on Grove. Happening every first Friday of the month from 3-9pm. Grove Path Plaza.

Provost Listening Room Presents Sound in Color at Headroom Bar & Social

Looking for a sophisticated date? Or even a grand old time? Go listen to an eclectic, improvisational, genre-bending evening of jazz and hip hop at Headroom Bar and Social from 8pm-2am. Tickets are $7 in advance on Eventbrite and $10 at the door. 150 Bay St.

Saturday, July 6th:

Porno! The Live Comedy Show at McGinley Square Pub

Mike Buscio Live at The Hutton

Saturday at 10pm make your way over to The Hutton's beautiful outdoor patio to take in the mellow vibes of musician Mike Buscio's live music. 255 Hutton St.

Sunday, July 7th:

Farmers Market at Lincoln Park

Recharge your batteries after a long weekend at one of Jersey City's own farmers markets. Featuring fresh produce, food, and goods from your local vendors and a free yoga class beginning at 10:30am. Market goes from 10am-3pm. Lincoln Park.

Fiber Arts Get Together at Prato Bakery

Visit Prato Bakery from 4-6pm for an artists networking and idea exchange event. All are welcome regardless of age, gender, orientation, or skill level. 371 4th St.

Summerfest Concert Series at Liberty State Park

If you need a breather after too much independence day fun then come on down to the Summer Concert Series hosted by Jersey City every Sunday. This week will feature The Outcrops who will go on at 8pm playing a solid rock n' roll blues country fusion. 1 Audrey Zapp Dr.
